Indonesia's Chairmanship in ASEAN Takes The Theme ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth.

From the Merdeka Palace, I came by pedaling a bamboo bicycle to Sudirman, then got off and walked to the event location with a number of ambassadors and permanent representatives from friendly countries.

Preceded by a drumbeat procession, a flag parade and a parade of clothes typical of Southeast Asian countries, the opening ceremony for Indonesia's leadership in ASEAN in 2023 began with the beating of tambourines on the main stage at the HI Roundabout.

Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN takes the theme ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth. ASEAN will continue to contribute to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

ASEAN is still important and relevant for the people, for the region, and for the world.
